International friendly preview: Bolivia v Brazil

Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will field a domestic-based squad for Saturday s international friendly with Bolivia.

The five-time world champions and Bolivia are set to come together in memory of 14-year-old fan Kelvin Beltran, who was struck by a flare and died at a Copa Libertadores match in February.

All proceeds from the game in Santa Cruz de la Sierra will be donated to Beltran s family, with the Brazilian team donating their share of the gate money.

With the game being played outside of a FIFA international date, Scolari will turn to players plying their trade in the Brazilian leagues.

One player likely to feature in Scolari s plans is Sao Paulo striker Osvaldo.

Osvaldo was selected for Brazil s two international friendlies against Italy and Russia last week without making it off the bench.

As for Bolivia, they head into the match full of confidence having held South American giants Argentina to a 1-1 draw in their World Cup qualifier last month.

The stalemate offered a timely boost to Xabier Azkargorta s men after they were on the receiving end of a hefty 5-0 defeat to Colombia.

Bolivia, regardless of the makeup of Saturday s opposition, will be buoyed by Brazil s struggles in central South America.

The Bolivians are unbeaten in three previous encounters on home soil, registering a 2-1 win in their most recent match in 2009.

Brazil s last triumph in Bolivia was 16 years ago, a 3-1 victory in the final of the 1997 Copa America.
